“The Artist”

I love coffee. I’m very fussy with my coffee. Each espresso I make I do it to the best of my ability. I try to top the last one I made. It has to have a certain taste, aroma, texture… a certain bite to it.

Some think I’m nuts, but I call it a work of art.

There is something that you do really well too, something that nobody else can do just like you.

Bricklayer. Lawyer. Accountant. Policeman. Chef. Athlete. Carpenter. Teacher. Gardener. Whatever.

The way you do it…it’s a work of art.

My daughter will soon be a teacher. She loves teaching kids and helping them tap into their potential. It’s a work of art. My son is an elite athlete, the way he does sport, it’s a work of art. When my parents were chefs in their restaurant, the stuff they did in the kitchen…a work of art. When my father in-law worked as a concreter, the way he concreted was a work of art. Whatever task my neighbour, Janina, sets out to do becomes a work of art. My wife is brilliant all round; she is a work of art!

My point is, you are talented. You are gifted. You are successful…no matter where you are in life. You do things the way you do and no one else has the same touch when they do it.

It’s a work of art.

And I applaud you.
