“How to Prosper On A ‘Fixed Income’ “

If your view is that you cannot be financially sound/wealthy/well-off, whatever you choose to call it, because you are on a “fixed income” – I submit to you that that is a poor-man’s way of thinking; a ‘poverty mentality’, and because of that you will always remain where you are financially.

My query is: who fixed your income?

The truth is: what you do with your pay packet will determine your financial wealth – your income. If you spend all of it, then you have a budgeting problem; but If you save a min. 10%, give a min. 10%, and live on 80%, that 20% invested in savings and giving (to good causes/charities/tithes, etc.) combined will take you much further than the 80% ever will.

The beauty about this is you can start anytime, even with the little wages you get. It’s about priorities. It’s about budgeting. It’s about money management.

There’s a difference between wages and income.

Your wages maybe fixed, but your income isn’t…

  6. This is a panic state of thinking many people get themselves into from time to time. I like your advice using the percentages Christian. A very good place to start. I reflect on, “A Story About The Amigo”, then I ask myself well do I have enough? and the answer is always yes. What leads most people into this panic for more financial security is the habit of comparing their own life situation with the appearance of other peoples lives. God didn’t mean for us to compare our own lives to other peoples but to share just what we have however little it may be and already have we enriched our being. Seek to give and already you have forgotten to be in need. We are never inferior to God so don’t be to yourself. If a financially well of man shows less respect to me because I have less monetary accumulation I don’t let this bother me and I think he still has some of his life in which to learn. Thank goodness most of us remember Gods teachings and remain graceful in spite of being entrusted with sums far greater than our own needs.
